ALMOST ANYONE CAN VOLUNTEER FOR BARKFEST & ROVER ROMP
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our BARKFEST & ROVER ROMP, August 26th event. This is one of our signature events, as a fundraiser for animals in the care at the Auburn Valley Humane Society. Volunteers are very crucial part of making our event possible. We are looking for dependable and committed people. All activities occur outside so the event happens despite the weather.
As you consider volunteering with us, please review the specific volunteer positions below. When you are ready to sign up, complete the event volunteer form. The sooner you reply will ensure you are assigned to a specific task. Additional tasks will be listed in the upcoming weeks. All volunteers receive a volunteer t-shirt, water and snacks during the day.
|Event Volunteer Orientation||All event volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend. Meet lead staff and other volunteers, get your volunteer event t-shirt, questions and answers.||Tuesday, August 22 – 6:00-7:30 pm at AVHS Shelter|
|Event Setup||Assist with setting up tables, chairs, tents, signage, supplies and other materials||Friday, August 25 – 3:00-6:00 pm|
|Event Setup||Assist with setting up tables, chairs, tents, canopies and event signage.||Saturday, August 26 – 7:00-8:30 am|
|Vendor Setup||Assist vendors checking in, finding assigned spaces, and setting up||Saturday, August 26 – 6:45-9:00 am|
|Volunteer Check-in||Greet volunteers, distribute nametags, and help get them assigned to tasks.||Saturday, August 26 – 6:30-10:00 am|
|Course Constructor||Place cones & signage along event route, set up water stations for people and dogs||Saturday, August 26 – 7:00-9:00 am|
|Checkpoint||Spread throughout the walk/run course in pairs, to ensure that walkers/runners follow the course route. Provide encouragement and cheer them on.||Saturday, August 26 – 9:00 am – 1:00 pm|
|Pet Clean-up Crew||Place pet waste bag dispensers in the park and along the course. Distribute poop bags to attendees. Pick-up any abandoned poop.||Saturday, August 26 – 8:00 am – 1:30 pm|
|Volunteer/Info/First Aid||Manage first aid area, lost and found items, provide event info for the event and organization, find out where people came and why they came to the event.||Saturday, August 26 – 8:00 am – 1:30 pm|
|Raffle Crew||Put out and display raffle baskets. Sell tickets to attendees, vendors and participants. Assist with drawing winners and display.||Saturday, August 26 – 8:00 am – 1:30 pm|
|Hydration Manager||Keep dog bowls filled, keep water stocked at the finish line for the walk and run finishers. Keep vendors and volunteers hydrated throughout the day.||Saturday, August 26 – 8:00 am – 1:30 pm|
|Vendor Cleanup||Assist vendors with break-down. Help with clearing path for vehicles. Help take down canopies and tents. Move tables back to loading zone.||Saturday, August 26 – 1:30-2:30 pm|
|Course Cleanup||Break down the water stations. Collect and take down event signage. Collect cones and water bowls and bring to loading zone.||Saturday, August 26 – 1:00-2:30 pm|
|Event Tear Down||Help tear down & pack up event. Move tables, chairs, tents, signage, supplies to loading zone. Load materials into vans.||Saturday, August 26 – 1:30-3:00 pm|
