AVHS will be offering pet owners, a basic first aid and CPR class with a focus on what measures a pet owner can take during an emergency to increase the likelihood of survival. This is not a certified course.
This class will be offered twice a year to the community free of charge through the generous donations of local businesses.
Instructor: Maryellen Elcock, MPH, Ph.D
Owner of a small pet care business, Creekside Critter Care, LLC, since 2004 providing pet care and pet first aid instruction in the Seattle area. Since 2008, Maryellen has trained pet care professionals and pet owners in Pet First Aid and CPR including the Dog-Tec Seattle Dog Walking Academy, University of WA Conservation Canines, Great Dane Club of Seattle, several dog daycare facilities and numerous pet sitters in the Seattle area. She has also been an instructor at South Seattle University. Maryellen is also a Consultant for doTerra Inc. providing essential oils and advice to pet owners for wellness and emergency situations.
In this class you will learn how to prevent and prepare for emergency situations including lifesaving actions you can take before you get to your Veterinarian. Traditional CPR and Acupuncture Resuscitation are demonstrated and practiced.
