Our Programs

Auburn Valley Humane Society has a vision to be a model of excellence in the advancement of animal welfare. In that vein we seek to enrich the lives of companion animals and people through animal sheltering, programs and community engagement. Please see below for some of our programs.

AVHS Thrift Store

The Thrift Store & More has a dealer consignment area featuring antiques, jewelry, specialty items, and other collectible treasures. All proceeds benefit the lost and abandoned animals at the AVHS shelter as well as the programs provided by the Auburn Valley Humane Society.

HUMANE EDUCATION

Animal Humane Education provides a variety of educational opportunities for children and their families. Programs may include a Girl Scout Badge program, a reading program for the shelter cats, and grade appropriate teaching curriculums.

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers are an integral part of our organization. Volunteers augment what the staff are able to accomplish while caring for the animals at the shelter and thrift store.

FOSTERING

Foster parents provide space, food and love for their foster pets. The AVHS shelter will provide the foster with all of the other supplies, medications, and equipment needed throughout their foster experience.
