AVHS Volunteer Opportunities!

We welcome new volunteers to the shelter. Complete an online volunteer application and the volunteer staff will send out emails concerning the next steps. Check out the volunteer news and follow us on Facebook for updates.

Volunteers are always needed to help at the shelter with dog walking, cat care and cleaning, laundry/hospitality, foster care, cleaning, and socializing the shelter animals. In addition, positions are also available for off-site adoption/outreach events, fundraising events, education, special events, and many other areas. We also have volunteer opportunities at the Thrift Store & More and Northwest Spay & Neuter Center.

Registered volunteers can log-in from a computer or tablet to the AVHS website and click on the button above to use our Volunteer Information Center Portal. Active volunteers will use their email addresses and password to log-in. Volunteers are able to change their schedule, receive messages and track their hours!

When volunteers arrive at the AVHS Animal Shelter, at the Thrift Store & More, or NW Spay & Neuter Center, they must sign-in and sign-out each day. Each volunteer uses a pin number to sign in at the computer station. Volunteers must be active and use their pin number (the 7 digits of their phone not including your area code). The kiosks are easy to use and assist AVHS in being more efficient with tracking your volunteer hours. If you need help with your kiosk login, contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
