At Auburn Valley Humane Society, we recognize the importance of the human pet bond and we are willing to work with the family to assist with a variety of pet needs that arise when a family is experiencing housing insecurity, job loss or medical issues. We are here to help keep the pet together with the family.

 
  • Our Public Veterinary Assistance Fund can provide financial assistance of up to $500 for non-urgent, non-routine veterinary care. This program is available to income-qualified residents of the City of Auburn.

    Please note*** Funding through this program may be utilized one time per household and is not available for routine office visits, vaccines, diagnostics, or spay/neutering services.

  • Pets in Crisis (PIC) provides temporary housing and care for owned pets. This program is available to owners who are temporarily unable to provide care for their pet(s) due to an unforeseen emergency such as loss of housing or a medical crisis (physical or mental health-related). This program is an alternative for owners whose only other option would be to rehome their pet(s). Pet owner must be a resident of the City of Auburn.

  • Pets Without Me Program provides pet owners with peace of mind that if something happens to them, their pets will be cared for and loved. In the event of an owner’s incapacitation or passing, Auburn Valley Humane Society will facilitate the care of the pet and help place them in a new home.

  • Auburn Valley Humane Society partners with Seattle Humane to provide a monthly Pet Food Pantry service. The AVHS Thrift Store & More, located at 1123 E Main St., Auburn, is a pick-up location for clients living in the Auburn area. Generally, pick-ups are on the 3rd Thursday and Friday of every month between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.

    Seattle Humane also provides a walk-up food bank at their campus located at 13212 SE Eastgate Way in Bellevue, WA. The walk-up food & supplies pick-up is open every Thursdays and Saturdays from 12 – 3 p.m. Please visit the Pet Food Bank during these hours for assistance.
