Volunteer Orientation

Steps for volunteering at AVHS

New volunteers are now being accepted at the Auburn Valley Humane Society. We have many opportunities for you to help the lost and homeless animals of the city of Auburn.

  1. Complete a volunteer application online.
  2. Watch the new online orientation video below to learn more about Auburn Valley Humane Society and the volunteer opportunities.
  3. After watching the video, use the button below or click here to complete the volunteer orientation quiz.
  4. Once you have completed the quiz, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] or [email protected] to schedule an orientation appointment to discuss your interests, your availability, and program details. During orientation, you will receive a brief tour of the AVHS animal shelter.
  5. Some volunteer opportunities require additional training to be completed before you become a full volunteer. You may watch the dog walking video or the cat care cleaner video if those are the volunteer areas of interest.
  6. Once training is complete, you will be placed on the regular, weekly Volunteer Schedule.

Thank you for helping to change lives…four paws at a time!
