SUPPLIES

AVHS gladly accepts goods and supplies (in-kind donations) to help make our shelter a reality. Goods and services are always welcome, from pet food to pet beds. We take:

  • We especially like Purina Kitten Chow, Purina Cat Chow, Pedigree Adult Dog Food, Pedigree Small Dog Food Bags (unopened)

  • We especially like Friskies Pate Canned Cat food and Pedigree Chopped Ground Dinner Canned Dog Food

  • Open bags of pet food (we share with partners)

  • Pet beds (cleaned and gently used)

  • Pet bowls, crates, and kennels

  • Towels (gently used and clean)

  • Fleece blankets

  • In-kind gifts are vital to the success of AVHS. Thank you.

These items may be dropped off at the shelter between 11 am and 6 pm daily, except Thursdays.

If you have other clean and gently used items, you may make an appointment or drop them off at the Thrift Store & More. To make an appointment to drop off your donations, please call us at the Thrift Store at 253-249-7849 Option 6. Please check out the Thrift Store Page. Proceeds from the Thrift Store benefit the animals and programs at the shelter.

AVHS relies on donations from the public and we are always in need of supplies.

We’ve shopped around and found the best bargains and quality food for our furry critters.

If you are shopping, we use:

  • Friskies Variety Pate Canned Cat Food

  • Purina Kitten Chow Dry Kitten Food (Yellow Bag – 3lb., 6lb., 14 lbs.)

  • Purina One Cat Food (blue bag)

  • Pedigree Small Dog Food

  • Pedigree Canned Pate Dog Food (Meaty ground dinner)

  • Gerber Chicken Flavored Baby Food (Not Beech Nut)

  • Pine Pellets (Pellets for the Wood burning stove are OK!) – we use these for cat litter

  • 10 gal., 39 gal., and 45 gal. Garbage Bags

  • Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, and Kleenex

  • Hot Dogs help the dogs to take pills and gain our trust

  • Distilled water for spay & neuter surgeries

  • Copy Paper for Copier/Printer

  • Additional chew treats for the dogs.

  • We also love gift cards to Costco, Lowe’s, Walmart, Home Depot, and Office Depot!

All donations of goods and supplies are tax-deductible. Be sure to ask us for a receipt.
