WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW VOLUNTEERS TO COMPLETE THEIR
COURT COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
You may complete the court-ordered community service application below. We review and reach out to you when we are making assignments.
Court Ordered Community Service hours are available at the Auburn Valley Humane Society Animal Shelter, Northwest Spay & Neuter Center, and the AVHS Thrift Store & More. Opportunities are available for individuals 18 years of age and older who have been court-ordered to perform community service of 8 or more hours. The following guidelines outlined below must be met to be accepted.
Typically, AVHS accepts court-ordered community service for these types of violations: DUI (alcohol), DWI (alcohol), traffic violations, and other similar violations.
AVHS will not accept those convicted of the following:
Felonies
Narcotics or controlled substance offenses
Sex Crimes
Violent Crimes
Animal Abuse/Cruelty
HOW TO GET STARTED:
Complete the online Court-Ordered Community Service application form. An incomplete application will delay processing. The applicant will be emailed a confirmation with a link to a mandatory video and short quiz. The applicant will be contacted when community services hours are available.
AVHS and NW Spay & Neuter Center are not able to accept all applicants into the program. AVHS has the right to dismiss a participant from service at any time. Participants who successfully complete their community service hours will be given verification of hours and a letter of completion on AVHS letterhead that the applicant will deliver to the court. A letter will be emailed to the volunteer or will be available three business days following completion. AVHS does not contact or send documents directly to the court.
