NoW Accepting Applications for A.C.T. ASSISTANT VOLUNTEERS
Do you have a passion for animals? Do you enjoy hands-on work alongside caring, like-minded people? Are you not afraid of a little manual labor? As an ACT Assistant Volunteer, you will assist our Animal Care Technicians in the daily care of the shelter’s animals (feeding, kennel, and other cleaning tasks, stocking supplies, and even walking dogs).
Priority shifts are now available: 8:00 a.m. to Noon and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Additional shifts may be offered. You must be 18 years or older to apply for this volunteer position. The position is physically demanding, requiring the individual to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods and regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds. This position will involve direct contact with animals and exposure to animal-related smells and sounds.
Please apply through the regular volunteer process (submit an online volunteer application, watch the online orientation video, and take the accompanying quiz). Then, follow up by contacting the Volunteer Coordinator (jriss@auburnvalleyhs.org) to schedule an orientation interview. Current volunteers may also contact the Volunteer Coordinator directly to apply for this position.
