Our Mission

Auburn Valley Humane Society Foundation is dedicated to providing support to the Auburn Valley Humane Society which provides shelter, quality care and love for all the lost, mistreated and abandoned animals in their care.

THE History

Auburn Valley Humane Society Foundation was founded in February 2014 after a substantial charitable estate gift was received by the organization. The Board of Directors of Auburn Valley Humane Society felt it was important to honor the legacy of this generosity and insure it would assist the organization for years to come.

THE Organization

Auburn Valley Humane Society Foundation is a unique and separate organization from Auburn Valley Humane Society. The Foundation operates independently of AVHS, and is managed and overseen by a separate and different Board of Directors than the Humane Society.

Accomplishments:

In 2017, the AVHS Foundation provided the Humane Society with $15,272.62 as a matching gift to assist in the purchase of the x-ray machine.

In 2018, the AVHS Foundation provided the Humane Society with $15,000 to support the purchase of the Electronic Monument Sign.

The Impact

When making a charitable gift to Auburn Valley Humane Society Foundation, a donor can choose to designate their gift to either the Foundation’s Restricted Endowment Fund or the Foundation’s Non-Restricted Fund. Gifts given to the Foundation Restricted Endowment Fund will be mindfully invested and never distributed or spent, allowing the gift to continue the donor’s generosity in perpetuity. Only the earnings from the Foundation’s Restricted Endowment Fund will be dispersed to the Non-Restricted Fund account with the intention of supporting Auburn Valley Humane Society and its efforts to provide shelter, quality care and love for all the lost, mistreated and abandoned animals its care.

Making a charitable gift

Charitable gifts can be made to Auburn Valley Humane Society Foundation’s Restricted Endowment Fund or the Foundation’s Non-Restricted Fund by mail or through a secure donation portal on this website.

Leaving a Legacy Gift

Making a thoughtful and planned charitable gift through a Will, Trust or other Estate gift to either the Foundation’s Restricted Endowment Fund or the Foundation’s Non-Restricted Fund will establish a donor’s legacy beyond their lifetime to support critical lifesaving programs and assist Auburn Valley Humane Society in changing lives... four paws at a time.
