Meet Spud and Lily…
Spud and Lily were found abandoned in an apartment and alone in a shoebox at one week old. They had spent their short life feeling scared and hungry – with no idea what it felt like to be loved.
They were malnourished, and the scars on their faces told a sad story. The dogs had been playing with each other to survive.
Spud and Lily knew nothing but hunger and fear. They were left in a shoebox at one week old. They were welcomed into a loving, caring foster home. They learned to play with each other and other dogs. They were bottle-fed every two hours to get them through the second and third weeks of life. They learned to eat solid food and have their own playpens. Spud’s and Lily’s story is just one example of why gifts are needed in the spring. More than 1600 animals will come through our doors this year. .. many are homeless or lost. Others will come from unwanted litter.
But, through your caring support, you can give animals in our community, just like Spud and Lily, the lives they deserve. Spud and Lily were neutered and spayed prior to going to an adoption event. They were scooped up by a wonderful adopter who lives on acres and wanted to give them a second chance at life.
With your continued support, you can give animals like Spud and Lily the love and safety all animals deserve.
